Levi Yitzchok Rudd is the founder of the SMS Academy and the author of the מנא הני מילי series, aka Sefer Mitzvos Synonymical (or Secondus, Subidiary, Subtext, Sequential).
As a researcher of theoretical Halacha, Levi specializes in the “Engine Room” of Torah Law – bridging the gap between abstract historical works and practical understanding.
Unlike traditional Codes of Halacha, which seek to define the case specific finalized law, ready for application in the practical world, the SMS Academy focuses on reconstructing the derivation pipeline: tracing the Mitzvah or Halacha back to its primary source in the Chumash, through the debates of the Tana’im and Amora’im – and understanding the Source of the Jewish traditions.
He currently is in exile in North Miami Beach, Florida, and can be usually found there, “debugging” a Rashi, writing, or recording episodes of The Oral Law podcast.
